Cortijo del Sol

Restored and newly built to a standard rarely seen on the site of an old olive mill, Cortijo del Sol sists discreetly in a private 15 acre estate of natural woodland and avocado trees. The villa is designed in classic Andalucian style around a courtyard with a fountain and trees, surrounded by an enclosed cloistered corridor from which most rooms are accessed.

The Moorish influence of the area is apparent in the architecture, specifically in the large rooms, high vaulted beamed ceilings and alcoves displaying beautiful lighting effects. An overall effect of elegance has been achieved through specially commissioned artwork.

Cortijo del Sol has a 12m x 7m infinity swimming pool, a cinema, tennis court, game room, terrace bar, five luxury air conditioned bedroom suites which accommodate up to 10 and an adjoining cottage (available for additional cost) for 2 more guests.

The lovely town of Gaucin is only a 10 minute drive away with its rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. The views from this village are probably the most stunning in southern Europe with vistas of two continents and three countries across the Genal Valley to Gibraltar, Morocco and the Rif mountains. Both Spanish and European restaurants are found in Gaucin as well as local bars, 2 banks, gifts shops, a pharmacy, a gas station and 3 mini supermarkets.
