Ponza is famous for its spectacular scenic beauty, lush vegetation, tiny rock beaches dotted with Roman remains. From here there is a scented garden with climbing roses, aromatic lavender, bourgainvillea oleander, palm trees, lush sub tropical vegetation, and then down to the mosaic tiled plunge pool area, and separate Turkish steam room – a fantastic spot to sit and sunbathe or sit in shade. Life here is a dream: a meal cooked by the (unobtrusive) resident housekeeper, a short walk to a trattoria or hire a boat and swim/snorkel in deserted coves along the dramatic coastline of towering cliffs.
