Il Borgo, is a thousand hectare estate located in the Valdarno, one of the most beautiful and historically important areas of Tuscany, about 35km from Florence. The estate covers an area situated at 400 metres of altitude up to 900 metres, on the crest of the mountains.

Originally a convent dating from the late XVII century, it was subsequently transformed into a farm, and is surrounded by extensive olive groves, bordering on woodlands. Il Borgo is made up of 5 residences inlcuding apartments, cottages and a private villa. All have undergone careful renovation and all the residences are situated around the village square, except for the villa Magnolia that overlooks the park and olive groves.

The apartments were built from the pre-existing structures and overlook the square. They are furnished with antique furniture, combined with designer elements, while other pieces were designed by the owner, an important Italian architect.

Guests at Il Borgo can enjoy common areas such as the multimedia library, the theatre, the wine bar and the billiard room as well as sports facilities such as the swimming pool. The most fascinating areas of the farm are the entertainment and leisure structures; situated between the apartments and the olive press, the library and theatre represent an opportunity for the guests of Il Borgo to meet, enjoy a little culture and relax among a wide range of books and magazines.

The theatre and indoor areas are set up to host artistic and musical events, meetings and conferences. Outdoors, a number of paths lead through the wonderful private nature reserve. In the areas closer to Il Borgo lies a pavilion, on the border of a small lake, where lunch or a moonlit dinner can be held. As in the past, the productive structure of Il Borgo carries on the meticulous work of transforming the crops grown on the estate, such as the extra virgin olive oil which is considered a top quality oil.
