Il Maniero

The splendid residence of Il Maniero sits majestically on top of a hill with commanding views over the typical Tuscan countryside, and Chiana Valley. Overlooking the historic town of Cetona, Il Maniero accommodates up to 14 people in great style and superlative comfort.

Formerly a medieval residence built on Etruscan site, with three towers of which only one remains, this 17th Century villa has been an architectural treasure for generations. The site has been witness to more than two thousand years of historic events.  The villa has been carefully restored in 2007, preserving its noble appearance, resulting in a timeless style and grace. In every room there are many original antiques and fine fabrics. Exquisite décor and attention to detail has resulted in a unique and quite splendid property.

With its beautiful swimming pool in lovely gardens and surrounded by two acres of parkland, as well as being a superb location for a fantastic Tuscan holiday, Il Maniero is the perfect setting for exclusive weddings, and very special events. The villa is accessed by walking through narrow alleys from the main square of the town of Cetona. Only small cars can negotiate these lanes. A small car, with a driver, is available for the transport of luggage to the villa from public car parks in the town. This vehicle with driver is also available at an extra cost on a daily basis should clients require assistance to and from the town. When entering through the gates, there is an arcade-like driveway leading to an Amphitheatre with various stairways to the house and garden. The delightful swimming pool is made from travertine stones from an ancient Roman bridge. Amidst the park-like gardens there is a profusion of flowering plants, olive groves, and great trees, all creating an extraordinarily tranquil atmosphere. Once in the grounds of the villa, the town is out of sight and the views are of stunning countryside.
