About Tuscany

Tuscany, with green hills, is well known for its wonderful landscapes, which are filled with rows of cypress trees growing next to castles and enchanting hamlets. Etruscan walls and cypress trees encircle hill towns. Among the olive groves, farmhouses, castles and fortified villas demonstrate the violence that tore at Tuscany during the Middle Ages. It is also the region of great vineyards and the home of some of the most famous wines such as Chianti and Montalcino. Tuscany has a wealth of splendid cities: Siena, unique in its mediaeval structure with towers and palaces, the mediaeval walled city of Lucca, and the hill towns of Cetona and Cortona. Pisa, currently the economic hub of the region has the famous "Leaning Tower." All of them are charming reminders of a glorious historical past. Of course, the food is wonderful yet very simple accompanied by a wide range of Tuscan red wines.
