Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol has long been considered one of Spain’s international resort areas, with hundreds of visitors carrying non-Spanish passports. El Sol has numerous villa rentals throughout the area. Located on the southern coast it boasts a micro climate of over 300 sunny days a year and an average temperature in the low 60′s. The area can be reached by flying into Malaga or Gibraltar. Malaga, which has undergone a cultural rebirth, is the home of a new Picasso museum. A modern expressway runs along the coast so that travel from Malaga to Marbella or Sotogrande is fast and comfortable. Marbella, known for its fine restaurants and great shopping, has a famous old town and outdoor dining. It also offers enchanting beaches. The hills above the coast form an interesting backdrop to the sea. Puerto Banus, 15 minutes from Marbella, has a large marina lined with over 50 restaurants. The Costa del Sol also offers the best golf on the continent; courses have green grass fairways surrounded by lush vegetation. Valderrama Golf Club hosted the Ryder Cup in 1997. Other famous nearby courses are Sotogrande, San Roque and Alcaidesa. The Sotogrande area contains a large marina and polo grounds. Also popular are side trips to Gibraltar, Morocco, and numerous cities in Andalucia, such as Ronda, Seville, and Granada. Costa del Sol is a grand place to rent a villa and do day tours, golf, hang out at the beach, or simply relax and let the atmosphere take over. This is a unique and lovely place.
